  2. Emotional Well-being • What is emotional wellbeing? • Wellbeing is both central to learning and an outcome • of learning. It is multidimensional and characterised by • feeling well and functioning well.

  3. Emotional Wellbeing • What does it mean for children in schools? • What is the role of the teacher? • What is the role of the counselor/specialist • teachers?

  4. Optimising Wellbeing Optimisingwellbeing within the school context requires a whole-school approach that covers practices in four domains: 1. Learning environment: Safe, secure, encouraging and enriching environment 2. Curriculum and pedagogy: recognise strengths, identify needs and provide extended opportunities to challenge all learners at all levels

Optimising Wellbeing Optimising wellbeing within the school context requires a whole-school approach that covers practices in four domains: 3.Policies and Procedures: supporting teachers and continuous updating of latest technologies and approaches 4. Partnerships: Parents as partners, Student voice group, Teachers Feedback

School Culture Acknowledge the importance of wellbeing to the learning process • Develop a rich school culture and positive ethos that creates a sense of belonging and self-responsibility, leading to positive behaviour, improved student attendance and achievement • Embed personal and social capabilities within the curriculum • Improve educational outcomes for all students.
