  2. Competency 2.1 Recognize and manage personal values in a way that allows professional values to guide practice. I personally believe that is important for one to know the difference between having personal and professional values and relationships. When dealing with clients the professional should NEVER place their personal feelings and values within a situation.

  3. Competency 2.2 Make ethical decisions by applying standards of the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics and, as applicable, of the International Federation of Social Workers. When choosing a profession such as social work it’s mandatory that we follow the code of Ethics. We have to ensure that we are following the guidelines that were placed before us. If we are following the code of ethics we don’t have to worry about clients accusing us of not following the guidelines.

  4. Competency 2.3 Tolerate ambiguity in resolving ethical conflicts. When trying to resolve conflicts and one is uncertain about the different approaches that are available we can educate them by referring to the code of ethics.

  5. Competency 2.4 Apply strategies of ethical reasoning to arrive at principal decisions Practice makes perfect. I am gaining experience. I’m learning by using Trial and error.
