  1. Low Energy Consumption PC with a Renewable Energy Source By Patrick & Cary

  2. Project Overview and Sketch • Benchmarking and load testing the PC. • Power Consumption of the 12V PC.

  3. 2 Different PC’s Used • Abit Core2Duo -Compact Media Desktop -High performance • Via MM 3500 Integrated Platform Motherboard -Low energy consumption(one of the lowest on the market) - Energy to performance trade off

  4. Software used for Benchmarking • CPU tests Mathematical operations, compression, encryption, SSE, 3DNow! instructions and more • 2D graphics tests Drawing lines, bitmaps, fonts, text, and GUI elements • 3D graphics tests Simple to complex DirectX 3D graphics and animationsDisk tests Reading, writing and seeking within disk files • Memory tests Allocating and accessing memory speed and efficiency

  5. Measuring Hardware • Multimetre - Used to measure the power output of the two power sources. • Wattmetre - Used to measure the consumption of the monitor and the two types of PCs

  6. PC Power Consumption

  7. Teamwork! Teamwork is a important factor of Project Management. We worked together in various groups of 2 to get the project off the go. From Putting the Solar Panel up, Wiring & Building the customised PC’s.
