  • Wireless 환경이 차츰 대중화 되고 있으므로, GPS로 위치 추적이 되지 않는 건물 안에서, wireless LAN을 사용할 수 있는 mobile device의 location을 알아내고자 한다.

  • How to measure the distance between AP and mobile device?

    • signal의 strength의 비 또는 packet의 arrival time으로 구한다.

    • 모바일 장치(혹은 AP)간의 간섭 현상으로 인해 오차가 발생할 수 있다.

  • 필요 장비

    • Laptop(Averatec) 4대

    • Laptop(Averatec) 3대를 랜 케이블로 연결(wired)

  • 실험 장소

    • 기숙사와 같이 다른 AP가 잡히지 않는 곳

      • 간섭 현상을 없애기 위해

  • 실험

    • Signal Strength측정(wireless extension API)

    • 패킷의 TOA 측정

    • AP의 MAC address identify

    • Location의 정확도 측정

  • Signal strength measurement로 distance를 파악한다(RADAR).

    • Ad-hoc 모드에서도 distance measurement.

    • Signal Strength로 알아낼 수 있는 거리의 오차는 2m~3m 정도가 될 것이다.

    • Mobile device의 이동 방향이나 속도 등도 파악 가능하다.
