Presenters • Mike King, Acting National Training and Education (NTE) Director and Superintendent of the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) • Vilma Milmoe, Acting Superintendent of the Emergency Management Institute (EMI) • Scott Kelberg, Director of the National Training and Education Division (NTED)

  3. Purpose To provide summary information on the objectives, status, and action items, as well as road blocks to completion of National Training and Education Working Groups initiatives. Initiatives: • Single Student Transcript • Electronic Registration • Common Course Catalog • National Course Number • Learning Content Management System (LCMS) • Learning Management System (LMS) • Data Reporting

Single Student Transcript Overview • Provide online access to a single student transcript for FEMA and partnership training Major Action Items • Enterprise online requirements includes: • User identification and password (FEMA SID) • Consider official and unofficial transcripts • Identify training information (i.e. Training Provider, Course Title, Training Dates, Course Code, Training Hours, CEUs, and Grade) Status • Awaiting LMS acquisition and deployment to migrate student records to a common transcript system

Electronic Registration Overview • Establish a process for all students to utilize an accessible and efficient electronic and paperless registration form Major Action Items • Identify and align requirements/data fields • Evaluate the best platform and build out the format/process • Establish web accessibility for all students to utilize an accessible and efficient electronic and paperless registration Status • Data analysis underway and draft single registration form under development

Common Course Catalog Overview • Standardization of course catalog and data across all NTE training partners Major Action Items • Developed single online training catalog at training.fema.gov • Working with SAA’s to clean up State Training Catalogs • Address inconsistencies across all catalogs, establish National Course Numbers, Standardize Curriculum Specialties and Naming • Status • Analysis underway

National Course Number Overview • Establish a standardized course numbering convention for all FEMA Training Programs to support more efficient data management and processes Major Action Items • Analysis is underway for all partnership training catalogs • Proposed template under consideration Status • Draft numeric catalog system identified and being evaluated

  8. Learning Content Management System Overview • Implement LCMS initiative to expand services to all of NTE and training partners Action Items • Kenexa LCMS procured and administered by CDP • EMI and NTED purchased licenses Status • CDP and EMI piloting application

Learning Management System Overview • Consolidate the administration and management of all NTE and partnership training and education programs Action Items • NTE-wide system analysis revealed low percentage of requirements met by existing platforms for uniform application of current technology • Provide one training entry point and platform • Provide one training data and reporting source Status Analyze CDP Training Administration System (CTAS) and others

Data Reporting Overview • Develop consolidated data and reporting requirements and platforms • Develop common lexicon for data reporting Major Action Items • Identify real time and standardized data management solutions • Validating common lexicon of terms for reporting Status • Coordination of reporting systems and integration of data calls
