Old Lady goes to Mohd Asraf's house to treat his sick grandmother. While there, Azreen discovers an envelope that leads to unanswered questions about leaving the island and the events that have occurred in the village. As the grandmother recovers, tensions rise among the villagers, revealing their superstitious beliefs and judgmental nature.

  2. SYNOPSIS Old Lady go to Mohd Asraf’s house to treat his sick grandmother. At the house, she is assisted by Azreen, Siti (a village girl) and Mohd Asraf. They turns looking after grandmother. While there, Azreen sees an envelope among a stack of books on Mohd Asraf’s desk. It was dated one month ago. She open it and sees a prospectus from a university in Kuala Lumpur. She wonders if Mohd Asraf was serious about leaving the island, as he had once mentions the events that have occurred to her and the village such as her sister,s funeral, her mother’s death, the floods in her village and the fire in her house. Mohd Asrsf’s grandmother recovers from her illness. However, the villagers areare not happy to see Old Lady’s return to the village by bringing Old Lady back into the village. An argument erupts between them. At the height of it, Azreen’s father comes to her aid. He tells them to disperse. He then goes home. Azreen goes to Mohd Asraf’s house. His grandmother recovers from her illness very fast. However, Old Lady is doubtful as she did not expect the recovery to be soon. Old Lady goes home. She is glad to be of help and needed to come back to the village although it was very difficult for her to do so. Mohd Asraf thank Azreen for bringing Old Lady back into the village to treat his grandmother. As his grandmother recovers, it has raining in the village. Azreen goes home

  3. Azreen goes to Mohd Asraf’s house. His grandmother recovers from her illness very fast. However, Old Lady is doubtful as she did not expect the recovery to be soon. Old Lady goes home. She is glad to be of help and needed to come back to the village although it was very difficult for her to do so. Mohd Asraf thank Azreen for bringing Old Lady back into the village to treat his grandmother. As his grandmother recovers, it has raining in the village. Azreen goes home.

  4. THEME • One should not be judgmental ***Old lady is portrayed to be an evil person and cast out from the village as she is accused of killing her husband. The villagers do not know the circumstances that lead to her murdering of her murdering of her husband. The fact that Old lady herself was abused by her husband is not known by the villagers. Had they known, perhaps she would have been viewed in a different light. • Superstitious beliefs can lead to irrational behaviour ***Old Lady is viewed as an evil person by the villagers. As she is believed to have killed her husband, she is cast out by the villagers.

  5. Plot Exposition *Old Lady goes to MohdAsraf’s house to treat his sick grandmother. *At the house she is assisted by Azreen,Siti and MohdAsraf. Rising action *Azreen sees an envelop among a stack of books on MohdAsrafdesk.It was daed one month ago.She opens it and sees aprospactus from university in Kuala Lumpur.She wonders if MohdAsraf was serious about living in island,has he had once mentioned it jokingly.Azreen also write a letter to Julian,her friend in London. Climax *MohdAsraf’s grandmother recover from her illness.However,the villagers are not happy to see Old Lady’s return to the village.PuanNormala the village gossip accuses Azreen of spreading the curse in the village by bringing Old Lady back into the village.

  6. SETTING Asraf’s House ***Nek was ill here. ***The Old lady visits to cure Nek. ***Puan Normala brings some villagers to drive the Old Lady away. The Cliff in the Woods ***A special place, a quiet and peaceful place.

CHARACTES • PUAN FATIHAH *** Tries hard to win back Haji Ghani’s love and approval • PUAN NORMALA *** Brings a crowd to Asraf’s house to attack the Old lady • PUAN KAMSIAH *** Easily influenced by gossips around the village *** Disapproves of Siti being in the presence of Old Lady *** Gets together with Puan Normala to get rid pf the Old Lady.

  8. MORAL VALUE • Be determined and work hard to achieve your dreams >>> Azreen Saleh studies hard and is offered a scholarship to study in London. She also sees this as her chance to achieve her ambition to leave the village and seek greener pastures. >>> Mohd Asraf is determined to leave the village to have a better future. In the end, he attends a teaching course in KL and is able to achieve his dream of leaving the village.
