Amniotic fluid is the fluid that surrounds the unborn baby inside womb. • It’s a excessive buid up inside mother’s womb is called as POLYHYDRAMNIOS. • If it is so excessive that it leads to maternal discomfort like difficulty in lying down, breathing trouble or excessive heaviness and is putting pressure on the mouth of womb, then it requires some of it to be taken out. • It is done by putting a needle into the fluid through mother’s tummy and excessive fluid is then taken out. This procedure is called Amniodraingae. It is done under ultrasound guidance so there is no harm to the mother, baby, cord or placenta.
