New Jersey: The Innovation State • The New Jersey: #4 in the US (behind MA, CA, CT) in the Risk Capital and Entrepreneurial Index in 2010 • Milken Institute index, just released in January 2011, measures each state’s entrepreneurial culture through the analysis of risk capital vehicles such as venture capital investment, initial public offerings, business creation, and patent activity. • New Jersey was #21 in 2008, and jumped 17 positions! • Overall, NJ is #11 nationally in Science & Technology Index, up one position from 2008.
