PCC of Exning with LandwadeJanuary 20, 2009Strategy Team Report-- Summary of Proposals Proposal A: Adopt Strategy Statement“Our purpose is to grow God's kingdom in this place by developing links with our community, as Churches and individuals, by asking the community how we can meet its needs and then prioritize our actions through prayer and discernment. We will nurture a sense of belonging for those currently in our Church and for those we welcome in the future.”A2: It is suggested that the PCC may wish to review this in 12 months.Proposal BDevelop strategy and proposals for provision for age range 3 to 18To be led by Leaders of each age group (e.g. Godly Play, Rock Solid/Rock On {leaders from Exning Churches})Proposals to be prepared by Dec 2010Proposals CPCC should ensure an evaluation of the provision for adults: couples/singles/parents such as : “Bible Study/House/Cell Groups”, Alpha Courses,This should be a priority during 2010Issue: Who should look at this? Proposals DWelcomeEstablish role of “Welcomers & Goodbyers” under leadership of Lay Elders to “spot” new people attending in service and engage in conversation with possible follow up visitMembershipInvolve new people in some part supporting the service and/or other activityRegular (quarterly or timed from 1st attendance) review to be carried out to identify people who are not on the Roll but are participating in our activities regularly with a view to inviting them to join the Roll (Vicar/Electoral Roll Officer)Financial CommitmentConsider the potential role of a Stewardship Officer to suggest regular financial giving via envelopes or standing order plus Gift Aid – as well as using talentsProposals EAll events should have a clear “owner” (group or individual)Recognise that any event has a potential mix of the 3 reasons and define its purpose in these termsAfter the event we encourage a look at “what went well”, “what could have been better”, for planning similar events in futureProposals FHold a review of existing organisations and, where appropriate, modify. Complete by Church AGM so groups effective from new PCC.Should involve leaders of existing groups with facilitation by the Strategy TeamOutcome will be statements of what the group’s roles and responsibilities are.Interactions between groups should be defined (e.g. Lead role, support from others)Should include ideas from “Parish Day” as well as existing activitiesIdeally committees/groups/teams should be Parish wide.Strategy GroupJanuary 20, 2009
