  1. WOK in Star Trek Episode Reason Ziyaad Bheda • The verdict is that Data is the property of Star Fleet, but is there a fallacy of Ad Ignorantiam in that decision? • That was the verdict because they couldn’t prove if he was a machine. But just because it couldn’t be proved wrong, it doesn’t mean it’s true.

  2. Emotion • Captain Picard’s judgement gets clouded because of his emotion. • He first thinks of only saving Data, because that was what his emotion drove him to do upon hearing they were going to take him apart.

  3. Perception • With the perception, when data is switched off. Everyone sees that happening, so it’s sense perception. But there are two parts of this WOK. There is the perception and the interpretation. The reason they actually knew something from it was because they interpreted the information and what they got from it, was that Data is an android.

  4. Language • They don’t know what it is to be sentient, or have soul. • What definition should they take? • Should it be definition, denotation or image? • Since they don’t even know, how can they make a decision? • There is a problem with knowing this by using language.
