  3. Reduce The Jumble Of Numbers For FY 2002 the population decreased from 1,989 in FY 2001 to 2,005 in FY 2002, a net loss of 16. Of those, men totaled 1,450 (72.3%) and women 555 (27.7%). Minorities increased by 14 in FY 2002 for a total of 412 or 20.5 percent of the workforce, with 270 men (13.5%) and 142 women (7.1%). Doing the Data tables • The data tables are an appendix not the report • Validates action items in form I (“Table B3 shows…..”) • Use tables in the Executive Summary (form E) to summarize the data tables • Don’t use the Executive Summary to describe the rewrite the data (don’t “the percentage increase was 12.5% for WM, 7% for WF, 9.2% for BM …..”) • Use references to the data tables (“Table A-2 shows the serviced population, the largest of which is MEDCOM”) How To Series
