  1. Chapter 6 Review

  2. Boiling Point • The temperature at which a liquid begins to enter the gaseous state

  3. Deposition • The process that occurs in frost formation

  4. Vaporization • The process by which a liquid changes to a gas

  5. Sublimation • The process that begins once dry ice is removed from the freezer

  6. Condensation • The process by which particles move slowly enough for their attraction to bring them together to form a droplet of liquid

  7. Temperature • The measure of the average kinetic energy of all the particles in an object

  8. Gas • The state of matter that has no fixed shape or volume

  9. Melting Point • The temperature at which substance changes from a solid to a liquid

  10. Evaporation • The process by which individual particles of liquid escape from the surface and form a gas

  11. Random Motion • Describes the movement of particles in matter

  12. Freezing Point • The temperature at which attractive forces trap particles and a solid begins to form

  13. Liquid • The state of matter that has a fixed volume but takes on the shape of the container in which it is placed

  14. Solid • The state of matter that has a fixed shape and volume
