  1. The Glory of God What does the Bible Reveals to us about the Glory ?? What is the Shechinah Glory ?? What is the Glory Jesus has ?? Jesus – the Christ – is God’s Glory Revealed on the earth How does this impact my life TODAY ?? Prayer / Ministering

  2. The Glory of God • What is the Glory of God ??? • If we want to Understand our Glory and what it means in Rom 8 – that He will give us Glory, we must understand it in the context of the Glory of God • In Exe 33:12-19 & Exe 34:5-7 we read that Moses wanted to see God’s Glory… • Exo 33:12 …. (Moses said) Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, show me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. And God answered, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. • Exo 33:18 And Moses said, I beseech thee, show me thy glory. • Exo 33:19 And God answered, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. • Exo 34:5-7 And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him (Moses) there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. And the LORD passed by before Moses, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. • Thus: From this we can see that God’s Glory has a lot to do with: • His Name • His Goodness • His Grace, and • His Mercy

  3. The Glory of God What is the Glory of God ??? • There are 2 forms the Bible says about the Glory of God... • The Glory of God which brings Fear and Respect for Him – for WHO HE IS • He is a Consuming Fire – Deut 4:24, Deut9:3, Heb12:29 • He is Jealous God – and wants a People for Himself (Exo 20:5, Exo 34:14, Deut 4:24, Deut 6:15…) • He is a Furious God (Nahum 1:2) • He is the only one that Judge Truthfully – According to Righteousness (Exo 12:12, Heb 10:30, Ps 35:24, Ps 62:12) • God is Love (Agapé) – Mature/Perfect Love that is not by emotion, but through His WILL (1 Joh 4:10,12,16…) • He is a Father (Mal 1:6, Mal 2:10, Ps 68:5, Rom 8:15, Gal 4:6…) • He is Merciful and Forgiving (Exo 34:5-7, Dan 9:9) • The Shechinah Glory – which is His Manifested Presence (How He Reveals Himself to Man) • Light – Isa 60:1-3,19, Joh 1:4-5, Joh 3:21,1 John 1:5, Rev 21:23,Rev 22:5 • Fire (Burning Bush – Exo 3:1-5, a Pillar of Fire by Night - Exo 13:21-22, Num 9:15) • Clouds (Cloud by day– Exo 13:21-22, Num 9:15, a cloud that covered the Mountain, and the Tabernacle – Exo 24:15-18, Exo 40:34-38, 1 Kings 8:1-13, On the Ark/Mercy Seat – Lev 16:2) • Darkness (Exo 20:21, Ps 18:9-11) • The Ark of the covenant was a symbol of God’s Presence & Glory – Lev 16:2,1Sam 4:22…..The glory is departed from Israel: for the ark of God is taken.

  4. The Glory of God What is the Glory that Jesus had ??? • Joh 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou Me with Thineown self with the Glory which I had with Thee before the world was. • This Glory in the Greek means: • Honour • Praise • Dignity • Worship • Which is also the “Glory” that God seeks throughout eternity… • Joh 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. • Mal 1:11 For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same My Name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts. • Eze36:22-23 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. • Mat 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name.

  5. The Glory of God Jesus – the Christ – is God’s Glory Revealed on the earth… • Joh 1:14The Word became flesh and tabernacled (dwelled) among us. We gazed on His glory, the kind of glory that belongs to the Father's unique Son, full of grace and truth. • Luk 9:28-36, Mat 17:1-9, 2 Pet 1:16 – Mount of Transfiguration !!! • Joh14:9-10Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of Myself: but the Father that dwelleth in Me, He doeth the works. • 1Tim 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. • Col 1:18-19And He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell; • Col 2:9-10 For in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power: • Heb1:1-4God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as He hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. • John 2:11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth His Glory; and His disciples believed on Him.

  6. The Glory of God How does all this impact my life today ??? • NOW God’s plan through His immeasurable wisdom – is to let The same Glory that dwelt in Christ, to also dwell in us !!! • BUT it is only for those who choose to believe !! • Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God; • Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the Glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the Hope of Glory • Rom 8:28-30 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He did foreknow, He also did pre-destinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He did pre-destinate, them He also called: and whom He called, them He also justified: and whom He justified, them He also Glorified.” • Those Whom HE Predestined He Called: • This Call is a Sovereign summons for a specific Purpose. It is not an aimless call, but to a certain destiny – related to God’s Glory • God Sovereignly calls men individually to salvation and to serve • The sovereign call of God is irrevocable, and thus it is the basis for our confidence in what He has Purposed and Promised !! • This call is always an expression and outworking of His Righteousness

  7. The Glory of God • Those Whom He called – He also Justified • God chooses to call everyone, but not everyone is responding to His Call (Mat 22:14) • THUS: only those who respond, will be justified !! • JUSTIFIED = Just If I’d …Never Sin before !!! • i.e. Justification is God’s declaration that we are Righteous • ‘Cause Righteousness is the Basis for Justification, and Glory is its promised Reward !! • In God’s kindness, He has provided a means (through Jesus, dying on the Cross for our sins and then raised Him up from the dead) in order to make all those who respond to His Call through Faith, Righteous and giving them eternal life (and immortality) (Rom 2:7, 2 Tim 1:10) • This Justification by Faith is not an excuse for continuing to live in sin (as we once did) – Rather it is the basis for living in obedience toward God, for living Righteously !! (Rom 6) • Whom He justified He also Glorified • Our Glorification involves the redemption of our bodies, and our adoption as Sons of God !! (Rom 8:15-25) • Rom 8:19 (Amp) For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship] • Hag 2:9 The Glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts. • Meaning: Former house was the Temple in Jerusalem • The Latter House – is the House not made with Hands – the New Jerusalem – which is every Spirit Filled Believer !!! (Rev 21:3 & 22-23, Joh 14:1-4, Acts 7:48, 2 Cor 5:1) • Jer 3:16 AMPAnd it shall be that when you have multiplied and increased in the land in those days, says the Lord, they shall no more say, The ark of the covenant of the Lord. It shall not come to mind, nor shall they [seriously] remember it, nor shall they miss or visit it, nor shall it be repaired or made again [for instead of the ark, which represented God’s presence, He will show Himself to be present throughout the city]. • 1Cor 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

  8. The Glory of God • Eze 36:26-27 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. • Now Paul explains this beautifully in Romans 8: • Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. • Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. • NOW: God wants His Glory to DWELL (Tabernacle) amongst all people – and that is/was His ultimate Plan from the beginning of Creation… • Rev 21:3-5 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. • THUS: You can walk in the Same Glory and Honor today – by walking in the Power of the Holy Spirit • Thus: Now that we have been saved by the Grace of God through faith, we can now also know with the same faith, that we can receive, and walk in the same Glory of what Jesus revealed to us while He was on Earth !! • And in that Glory, is also Healing, Freedom from Fear, Peace, Joy & Life in abundance, even Eternal Life and Immortality !!! • 2Cor 3:15-17 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. • 2Cor 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass (mirror)the Glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to Glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. ******** A M E N ********
