Overview • Two new lanes in each direction • First-time introduction of HOV to the Beltway and Tysons Corner • Seamless connection with existing HOV Service • I-395/I-95, I-66, and Dulles Toll Rd • Congestion-free network for buses and carpools • Opportunity to pay a toll for reliable travel time

  3. Other Project Benefits • Improved & expanded sound wall protection • Replace over $260 million of aging infrastructure • Improved connection for I-66 regular lanes • Pedestrian and bicycle access for each interchange

Free to HOV-3, buses, motorcycles and emergency vehicles Variable pricing:tolls rise or fall based on real-time traffic conditions to manage number of vehicles in the lanes Not an everyday toll road:choose to pay a toll when they need a faster, more reliable trip Fully electronic tolling with E-Z Pass:Electronic signs display rates; no toll booths

Route 7 Interchange Maryland 2009-2012 Four Construction Phases • Phase 1: • Build new westbound bridge • Phase 2: • Traffic shift to new westbound bridge • Eastbound traffic to old westbound bridge • Demolish and rebuild eastbound bridge • Phase 3: • Traffic shift to new eastbound bridge • Remove existing east bridge • Complete Route 7 new bridge • Phase 4: • Build Hot Lanes ramp Springfield

Route 123/Westpark Connector 2009 - 2012 Three Construction Phases Maryland • Phase 1 • Build new I-495 south bridge • Widen Westpark Bridge • Phase 2 • Build new I-495 North and • HOT Lane bridges over Rt. 123 • Phase 3 • Build new connector from • HOT Lanes to Westpark Bridge • Ongoing coordination between HOT Lanes, Dulles Metrorail, and Tysons Corner Center Springfield

No Beltway closures during peak rush hours Route 123, Route 7 and Dulles Toll Road will be impacted but remain open during the entire project Businesses and residential communities will remain accessible Through traffic is not directed to local streets Scheduled lane closures are communicated in advance Keeping Tysons Moving Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
