The objectives:

1. Algorithm cross comparisons

2. Algorithm recommendations

3. Report on algorithm progress

Major issues regarding algorithm activities:

1) there are many algorithms;

2) many of them are empirical;

3) many of them are only partially tested/validated;

4) limited/no common ground for cross comparison.

IOCCG Report #3, Page 117:

… desirable to set up an international data base …, with free and easy access to all interested researchers, …

This OCAG plan to do:

1. “To assemble data from field measurements”

Link/merge with SIMBIOS data

Only limited comparison/validation for other properties.
