  1. The federal and state governments are attempting to remove the office of the Sheriff, the last protection for the people. • April 8, 2012 • Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden (son of Vice President Joe Biden) sent out mandates informing commissioners that their sheriffs no longer had arrest powers. • Sheriff Jeff Christopher of Sussex County: • “Now my deputies and I have been relieved of all arrest powers and can’t even make a traffic stop,” he said. “Delaware has only three counties. . . The other two sheriffs . . . will not stand up with me” to prevent the elimination of county law enforcement, he said. • June 14, 2012 • By a 12-3 vote, the bill goes to the governor's office. HB 325 clarifies existing law by removing arrest powers from the duties of sheriffs and deputies in all three counties. Story Here • Why the attack on the county sheriff? Because the sheriff is the highest office of law enforcement, elected by the people, for the people. • Do you want to let federal authorities tell you what to do in your county? • The people expect you to represent their rights. Are you prepared and knowledgeable enough to do so?

  2. Sheriffs must unite on a single front and support each other during these times where power is being stripped from them. • The attack on the authority of the office of sheriff is far easier than going directly after individual rights. With the sheriff de-fanged, the federal government can impose whatever it wishes. • By supporting the resolution, you are showing that you support your citizens. This is a sure fire way to gain instant support from the people and put pressure back on state lawmakers. • You stand for the people and the people stand for you. • Read this • Do you really want local and municipal police agencies to have more power than the county, elected chief law enforcement official? • Point them to Sheriff Mack and his win against the feds (10th amendment)
