The active Background Map that appears on the top of the POI list. Any feature logged in the open Survey job. These features are selected graphically from the MAP screen. NAVIGATION

    45. 44 Re-Initializations are caused by poor GPS reception. A Loss of Lock alarm will appear in surveys that were initialized with the Bar or Known method when there is GPS data that is too poor to maintain survey accuracies. Prevent loss of lock. Keep the antenna in clear view of the sky at all times. Create intermediate control points that can be used for rapid re-initializations. POST-PROCESSED SURVEYS

    46. 45 Rover units must be initialized prior to data collection. Initializations require 15 seconds to 30 minutes depending upon conditions. Antenna must be kept in full view of the sky at all times. If the antenna loses lock on too many satellites, the system will need to be re-initialized before precise measurements can be resumed. Stop and Go Use for point collection. Antenna is precisely positioned over a point and data is collected for a period of time ranging from 15 to 60 seconds. Continuous Use for collecting a group of points with minimal attribution. Ideal for terrain modeling or linear feature collection. A point is collected each time the receiver records an epoch of data. Typical occupation times range from 1 to 5 seconds with accuracies of about 0.03 0.05 meters. POST-PROCESSED SURVEYS

Grids A series of right intersections creating an array of evenly distributed waypoints. The ProMark3 will guide the user to each of the waypoints where measurements can be performed. MOBILE MAPPING

    99. 98 Highlight desired feature and click on "LOG" Highlight various attributes of the feature, hit "ENTER" on each and update or populate the fields. Options icon: Points: Allows the user to delete a feature or offset a measurement. Lines/Areas: Allow the user to pause/resume collection, offset the measurements, nest a feature, change the logging interval (default is 5 seconds) or delete the feature. When all fields are populated and measurement is completed, hit the "DONE" icon Move to the next feature MOBILE MAPPING
