  2. EXPORTS Step 1: The shipper/forwarder sends an export declaration through to Customs electronically to receive an ECN/EDN. EXIT CMR Customs Shipper/Forwarder

  3. EXPORTS Step 2: The shipper/forwarder can either make a booking with the shipping line by phone or electronically. Booking Shipper/Forwarder Shipping Line

  4. EXPORTS Step 3: The shipping line sends a booking confirmation to the terminal and shipper/forwarder quoting a container number. Shipper/Forwarder Booking Confirmation Shipping line Terminal

  5. EXPORTS Step 4: The shipper/forwarder/transport company sends an electronic ERA to the terminal quoting the container number supplied in the Booking Confirmation. The ERA is therefore a pre-advice which the terminal checks against the Booking Confirmation supplied by the shipping line for discrepancies. Electronic ERA Shipper/Forwarder/Transport Co Terminal

  6. EXPORTS Step 5: The shipper/forwarder/transport company makes a vehicle booking electronically through to the terminal, again quoting the container number. This ties the vehicle booking to the ERA/Cargo details. Vehicle Booking System Shipper/Forwarder/ Transport Co. Terminal

  9. IMPORTS Step 1: The importer/agent sends the Import cargo detail report to Customs electronically. SCA/CMR IMPORTS Customs Importer/Agent

  10. IMPORTS Step 2: The shipping line issues a Delivery order to the importer/agent subject to payment arrangement for charges due. Delivery Order Importer/Agent Shipping Line

  11. IMPORTS Step 3: The shipping line sends a copy of the Delivery Order to the terminal which includes the container number. Note: Security Copy of Delivery Order Shipping Line Terminal

  12. IMPORTS Step 4: Having checked the status with Customs, the importer/agent makes a vehicle booking electronically through to the terminal, again quoting the container number. This ties the vehicle booking to the Delivery Order. Vehicle Booking System Importer/Agent Terminal
