European Pillar of Social Rights • EUROCITIES statement on the EU social pillar • EP report calls for involvement of all relevant stakeholders at all levels in implementation • Commissioner Thyssen:‘partnerships are needed with all levels to make the pillar a reality on the ground, including cooperation with local authorities’

  8. Refugees & migration • Launch of Solidarity Cities Initiative (website + video + grant from Open Society Foundations) • Approval and launch of the Cities-Grow project (Feb 2017 – Jan 2019) • Urban Partnership on migrants and refugees

  9. Inclusion through education • Part of the EU 2020 strategy for Education & Training working group on schools • Council conclusions on inclusion in diversity to achieve a high quality education for all (Feb 2017)

  10. Housing & homelessness • Urban partnership on affordable housing with a focus on state aid • European pillar of social rights includes access to housing for all

  11. Smart social inclusion • Study visit on social entrepreneurship in Milan in February • Commission and OECD toolkit on inclusive and social entrepreneurship for public authorities • Exchange of experiences on innovative financing tools : Social Impact Bonds and Crowdfunding

  12. Urban ageing • Work on linking smart city agenda and ageing via mapping on ageing in cities • Collaboration with the WHO on urban ageing through their concept of age-friendly cities • Integrated Care in European cities conference, 18-19 May in Brussels followed by WG meeting

  13. Roma inclusion • Mid-term review of the EU Roma framework • Urban Partnership on poverty with a focus on Roma inclusion • EP prepares report on fighting anti-gypsyism

  14. Update on EaSI grant • Partnership with DG EMPL in 2014-2017 • Annual work plan for EaSI implementation in line with European Commission priorities and with the SAF strategy • Funding for study visits, peer reviews, capacity building events, workshops
