IPT Version 2.0 • BBC1 & BBC2 data unified products & file names/formats • Cloud classification modified: use of ceilometer backscatter profile to identify super-cooled clouds • liquid water cloud now also retrieved if “radar cloud base” is within 250m of ceilometer cloud base or even if radar did not detect liquid water cloud (one radar pixel “filled” with radar sensitivity Z value of ~-40 dBZ) • effective radius retrieval included (modified Frisch et al. 2002 method) • super-saturation check of humidity retrieval included • (retrieval rejected if above RH > 110 %) BBC2_2 workshop, DeBilt, 18.-19.10.04

Available IPT data • updated BBC2 & BBC1 products include cloud classification scheme and T, q, LWC, Reff retrievals available on the BBC data base • BBC1:bbc.knmi.nl/BBC1/cabauw/microwaves/ubonn/daily/level2av/ • BBC2: • bbc.knmi.nl/BBC2/cabauw/microwaves/ubonn/level2av/ • all data available as quicklooks and in CLIWA-NET format • also included: error estimates of T, q, LWC • LWC, Reff additionally available on radar vertical resolution • for detailed Information: refer to readme files in above mentioned directories BBC2_2 workshop, DeBilt, 18.-19.10.04
