  4. Daily Basis Routines • Help Desk Tickets • Shows computer problems with teacher’s information (name, class #, e-mail address) • Destination- 1 or 2 schools a day • Special issues/Projects

Use of Technologies • Technology Computer Systems for computer networking/applications • prepare for certification exams, to integrate computing systems as well as acquire network planning and management skills • Hardware PCs, Desktop computers, Laptop computers, MACs • Softwares Windows 2003 and 2008 Servers, Windows 7 and XP Internet Access on Active Directory Console, Remote Desktop on Macs • Symantec Endpoint Antivirus software is used at schools • Website: http://hpsd-antivirus.hpsd.local:8080/  shows lists of schools and which schools has this software

Blocking Internet Access • Active Directory Console- temporarily turns on Internet • Start Run gpedit.msc Windows Settings in User Configuration Internet Explorer Maintenance Connection Proxy Settings (127.0.0.1) UNCHECK in box Enable Proxy Server • Students have Internet access until taken off for online educational work • Prevents YouTubes, Myspace, ETC.

Remote Desktop • Remoted into teachers’ MAC computers using IP Address (10.202.1.47) or Bomgar • Adjusted clock time to automatically, so teachers can log on their Macs • Shows school’s computer number, IP address, DNS name, ARD (Apple Remote Desktop), ETC. • Grey means “OFF” and Blue means “ON” • Blue dot means their logged on

Project • Re-cable each wire in certain classrooms at different schools • Cut length of wire, unwired bundled wire, put the wire in designated colored slots(blue with blue, blue/white with blue/white, etc.), cut the extra ends, and was able to test it • Installing Promethean Boards in classrooms • Macbook carts re-imaging and binding

  14. Conclusion • Learned a lot and had great fun • Worked with new software, like Bomgar and Mac OS X and Symantec Endpoint Anti-virus • Learned how to install Promethean boards • That the public school district has a lot of troubled youth and teachers need rises.
