  1. The lazy Detox By Dr. John Erdmann, DC, DIBAK

  2. The lazy Detox • What really is Detoxification? • Four and half Organs that detox • The Lazy guide to success • Summary of Dr.John’s top 10 priorities to detox well.

  3. The lazy Detox • Health starts with a balanced approach and co-operation of your body & Nervous system

  4. The lazy Detox • Nervous system confusion

  5. The lazy Detox • Synthetic Vitamins, Fortified, and experimental isolates. • There you have it, Isolated nutrients or synthetic nutrients are not natural, in that they are never found by themselves in nature.  They are made in a lab not in dirt. They are usually easy to find because they have an un-humanly wrong or high MG dose.  Where does vitamin c pills start? 500 mg on up, and what can you get in an average great good diet? Maybe 50 mg. Synthetic nutrients act like xenobiotics (foreign substances) and may just tax the kidneys and urinary system to get rid of it, or may deplete the co-enzymes, minerals, and other vitamins that were supposed to be with it in the first place. http://www.wholefoodforhealth.com/synthetic%20and%20whole%20food.htm

  6. The lazy Detox • Sugar the metabolic NITROUS fuel • Michael Jacobson, executive director of CSPI, said today at a Washington press conference, "Sugar consumption has been going through the roof. It has increased by 28 percent since 1983, fueling soaring obesity rates and other health problems. It's vital that the FDA require labels that would enable consumers to monitor—and reduce—their sugar intake." • Marion Nestle, chair of the Department of Nutrition and Food Studies at New York University, said, "Because sugary foods often replace more healthful foods, diets high in sugar are almost certainly contributing to osteoporosis, cancer, and heart disease. It's high time that the food label informed consumers of a food's contribution to a recommended limit for added sugars." Nestle was managing editor of the 1988 Surgeon General's Report on Diet and Health.

  7.  Many individual foods provide large fractions of the USDA's recommended sugar limits. For instance, a typical cup of fruit yogurt provides 70 percent of a day's worth of added sugar; a cup of regular ice cream provides 60 percent, a 12-ounce Pepsi provides 103 percent, a Hostess Lemon Fruit Pie provides 115 percent, a serving of Kellogg's Marshmallow Blasted Froot Loops provides 40 percent, and a quarter-cup of pancake syrup provides 103 percent. •      While restaurant foods are not required to provide nutrition labeling, CSPI found that a Cinnabon provides 123 percent of USDA's recommended target, a large McDonald's Shake 120 percent, a large Mr. Misty Slush at Dairy Queen 280 percent, and Burger King's Cini-minis with icing 95 percent. One of the biggest problems with high-sugar foods is that they replace more healthful foods. According to USDA data, people who eat diets high in sugar get less calcium, fiber, folate, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, magnesium, iron, and other nutrients. They also consume fewer fruits and vegetables.

  8. The Lazy Detox • According to new U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) data, sugar consumption in 1999 was 158 pounds per person.

  9. The Lazy Detox • Polution • Refined, processed food • Water supply • Antibiotic and steroid meats & dairy • Mercury and other toxic fish • Alcohol and drugs • Cigarretes • Pharmaceuticals and OTC drugs

  10. The Lazy Detox

  11. The lazy Detox • de·tox·i·fi·ca·tion   (d -t k s -f -k sh n) KEYNOUN: • The process of detoxifying. • The state or condition of being detoxified. • PhysiologyThe metabolic process by which the toxic qualities of a poison or toxin are reduced by the body. • A medically supervised treatment program for alcohol or drug addiction designed to purge the body of intoxicating or addictive substances. Such a program is used as a first step in overcoming physiological or psychological addiction. Yahoo dictionary.

  12. The lazy Detox • The act of being alive involves taking the good nutrients like oxygen and disregarding the Bad or poisons like carbon dioxide. • Of course where it is and how its used in our bodies determines if it is a poison or not.

  13. The Lazt Detox • Should we all live in a bubble?

  14. The lazy Detox • The story is about a boy born without an immune system. • In that case maybe. For the rest of us the answer is absolutely NO. • The same viruses that mutate and make us sick are opporating on the same way our bodies adapt and grow strong to its surroundings. • If it doesn’t Kill you…

  15. The lazy Detox • We may never look at that annoying mosquito the same again. • In fact, the mosquito Even the West Nile guy In the end help us To have a stronger Immune system.

  16. The lazy Detox

  17. The lazy Detox • The first Runner up for detox organs, isn’t an organ?!@ • Infact, we give it the half rating, but it detoxifies everwhere…

  18. The lazy Detox • Its one of our couple Trillion CELLS • The nucleus is a highly specialized organelle that serves as the information and administrative center of the cell. This organelle has two major functions. It stores the cell's hereditary material, or DNA, and it coordinates the cell's activities, which include intermediary metabolism, growth, protein synthesis, and reproduction (celldivision).

  19. The lazy Detox • The Skin is included and infact it’s not that much different than the skin of a cell shown here! • The membrane or Skin has the main & Only purpose to let Good guys in and Bad Guys out!!! The cells INNATE met- Abolisms decides to Then Detox it out

  20. The lazy Detox • The Fantasy Player… LIVER is here. The Liver and Gallbladder who can be known as it’s side kick Involve in countless activities. Being a giant filter for poisons, and maintaining the law of what chemicals are allowed is one job. Also regulating sugar and Insulin and Cholesterol and BILE

  21. THE Liver • Liver Facts • Weighs about 1 pound.• Carries out 1000s of functions per day.• Effects the emotions.• Cleanses the blood.• Helps regulate blood sugar.• Metabolizes fats.• Synthesizes vitamin A.• Breaks down toxic substances.• Stores iron for the body.• Stores glycogen (converted glucose).• Metabolizes carbohydrates.• Metabolizes proteins.

  22. The Liver • Emotions are not random. When you watched as someone exploded with remarkable intensity, over a slight thing, there was a physical factor involved making it worse, your liver. The Chinese noted 4000 years ago, that emotions go as your liver goes. When the liver is hot, so are your emotions. When the liver is unstressed and cool, you are calm and relaxed. Altered or hot emotions, is the liver’s attempt to alert you that it needs help.Think of your liver as an oven. If it is cool, your emotions are even and regular. The hotter the liver gets, the more intense your emotions become. Dyes, preservatives, chemical additives, resins etc., are all explosive fuel for your liver. Enough contact with them will cause your liver to heat. That kind of fuel can keep your liver red hot for hours or days.

  23. The Liver • What Liver Symptoms Do You Have? 1) Right shoulder stiffness, tightness or soreness?2) Irritable or stressed?3) Fuzzy or foggy vision?4) Headaches?5) Poor concentration or focus?6) Itchy, irritated, red or dry eyes?7) Insomnia, restless or rough sleep?8) Fed up with people or have little patience with them?9) Liver problems or hot flashes?10) Dry, bad, itchy, burning or irritated skin?11) A constant itch that never goes away?12) Muddled or muddy thinking?13) Overwhelming moods or emotions?14) Wound up and ready to explode?15) Gallbladder flare ups or issues?16) Use or crave alcohol or spirits?17) Nose, sinus or chest congestion?18) Acne, boils, rashes or breakouts?19) Bothered by answering this question? • Count your YES answers and see below.0-2     Excellent, keep up the good work!3-6     Help is recommended.7+      Serious problem, needs to be resolved.

  24. The lazy Detox • Bile or Bile Salts are a very important function that then contributes to our next organ the colon. • Bile acts like soap to reabsorb cholesterol or fat and encourage a cleaner colon • I’s like cleaning bacon fat without soap and now your trying to clean drinking glasses with the same sponge!#@

  25. The Liver I believe everything in moderation, even moderation. 2x per month fits this • The Lazy liver support is to: • Avoid Sugar, Bread, pasta, Soda pop, cookies, candy, icecream, potatos. • Limit yourself to 2 glasses red wine or one stout beer ever other day • Exercise 20+ minutes in your heart zone • 180 –your age plus is the top, minus 10 is the bottom. • Beef liver and spinach vitamin A, Herb cleansing program (spCleanse). • Play with raw vs. cooked veggies 50/50

  26. Your Colon • Your Colon is a step more advanced than your skin or cells in that, while it still let’s in good guys and lets out bad guys, it houses communities of culturally diverse flora (bugs) some good and some squatters. These friends help to synthesize vitamins and produce neuropeptides responsible for emotions and almost everything. Candice Pert- noble prize winner and author of her top selling book “Molecules of Emotion.” describes how scientist think of the brain by the amount of neuropeptides it produces, and the gut produces more of these than the brain.

  27. The lazy Detox • Keeping a clean colon allows it to function. • Colon cleanses, extra fiber, Okra pepsin, Pro flora, FOS, Spanish black radish are all supportive. • Respect your food sensitivities The Colossal Colon

  28. Your Colon I believe a minimum of 1 ideally 2. If 3-4 than you may have something else • Do you need to do a cleanse?1) Have less than 1 bowel movement      per meal eaten?2) Are you more than 10 pounds over weight?3) Are you tired and sluggish?4) Do you have food allergies?5) Do you crave breads or sugary sweets?6) Do you rarely exercise?7) Does your skin breakout?8) Do you have bad breath?9) Do you have to mask body odor with a scent?10) Never done an inner body cleanse before?11) Do you eat dairy products?12) Do you need caffeine to get up?If you answered yes to 3 or more of the above or yes to #1, 2 or 10

  29. The Lungs • "Every day people spend billions on heart and lung related issues"Your Heart, Lungs, Kidneys and Liver are a self regulating quartet. They should run flawlessly for a lifetime. • “The heart is the King of the organs. The lungs are the Prime Minister. The lungs assist the king to circulate theblood using heart energy”— The Shan Ching (circa 250 BC)

  30. The Lungs • At rest you will inhale and exhale between 14 to 16 times per minute. • During exercise your breaths can increase to 60 times per minute. • Each breath moves approximately 350 ml of oxygen into the lungs. • The lungs are the only organ in the body that can float on water.

  31. The Lungs • The # 1 toxin that your body removes is…carbon dioxide. Nitrogen and other gases too. • Every cell goes through its metabolism and releases gases into the blood that get detoxed. • Urine or urea cycle detoxes pneumonia, and arginine, nitrogen etc, but this happens first by the lungs blowing off its gasses, allowing water and urine to be detoxed by the kidneys.

  32. The Lungs • The lazy tricks: • Yoga or deep breathing, clean air. • Don’t jog along a busy road and use recycled vent on your car when around other cars. • Exercise makes you wanna breathe.

  33. The Kidneys • What Do Your Kidneys Do? The body is a factory. Your two bean shaped organs (kidneys) track the body’s fluid usage, levels, pressure & location. Fluid is used to transport waste from the body’s organs, to the kidneys for processing or treatment then, excretion as urine.Your body also has to rid itself of gases, acids, oils, resins and sludge. Some of the compounds processed by the kidneys include, lactic acid, uric acid, various proteins, sugars, salts, excess calcium, potassium and ketones. When these products / by products cannot be fully flushed from the body, the body is forced to uncomfortably store them. Healthy kidneys will utilize between 64 to 128 ounces of fluid a day cleansing your system. Due to their importance in keeping us healthy, the Chinese call the kidneys “The Master Organ.” Since all of our organs run on fluid, the kidneys regulate every organ of our body.

  34. The Kidneys • Your Kidneys: The Master Organ Of Life • "The state of our internal organs are represented on the face" - Yellow King of China's physician, circa 2670 B.C. • Fact: When an area of the face is very pronounced or calling attention to itself, it indicates a weakness or predisposition to weakness of the associated organ. • The half moon of darkness, redness, puffiness or pronounced wrinkling under each eye indicates the state of your kidneys. Your right half moon represents your right kidney and the left is the left kidney.

  35. The Kidneys • Location of Your Kidneys The kidneys are: • Two bean-shaped organs, one on each side of the backbone. • Represent about 0.5% of the total weight of the body. • 20–25% of your body’s total blood supply can be found in the kidney at all times. • Cleanses the body’s entire blood supply about 300 times a day. • Continuously regulates the chemical composition of the blood within narrow limits (diet permitting).

  36. The Kidneys • Do Your Kidneys Need Help? 1) Low back pain, stiffness or soreness?2) Tire quickly or sleepy from 3-7 P.M.?3) Left shoulder pain, stiffness or soreness?4) Sore ankles, calves or feet?5) Rough periods or low sex drive?6) Bladder infections & frequent urination?7) Tinnitus, vertigo or high blood pressure?8) Puffy, red or dark circles under the eyes?9) Clear shapes in your field of vision?10) Weak nails that chip or break?11) Sore, tingling or numb muscles?12) Thyroid or lymphatic issues?13) Swollen, stiff or sore wrists, knees or joints?14) Scalp irritations or thinning hair?15) Weak or sore left side of your body?16) Spleen, pancreatic or weight issues?17) History of kidney issues or kidney stones?18) Reproductive health issues? • Count your YES answers and see below.0-1 May not be an issue yet.2-3 A slight problem that can be improved.4-6 Chronic, may continue to worsen.7 + Severe, help is needed now.

  37. The Kidneys • The Kidneys Hate: • Alcohol • Excessive protein • Salts and excess sodium • Fried foods and processed fats • Caffeine • Sugar and Chocolate • Chemicals / drugs of all types • Dairy products • Processed Carbohydrates • Lack of sleep • Heavy Meals • Your Kidneys Need : • Clean Water • Fresh Fruit • Fresh Vegetables • Less protein text books say, think 50/50, not Dr. Atkins 90/10 • Light meals Detoxing extras with Distilled water 5-6 galloons, Albaplex (SP), Cranbury concentrate (MH)
