  3. 2016 – 2017 Successes • 89% of the 2017 Seniors graduated with a Diploma Plus. • Our average ACT score is 19. • 68% of the 3rd-8th graders scored Mastery or Above on the ELA LEAP 2025. • 69% of the 3rd-8th graders scored Mastery or Above on the Math LEAP 2025. * Note: Last year, proficiency was Basic & Above.

  4. 2016 – 2017 Successes con’t. • 84% of our students scored a Good or Excellent on EOCs, which includes 100% proficiency in Algebra I. • 100% of our Senior Class graduated last year. • Our average school attendance for the school year was 96%.

  5. 2016 – 2017 School Performance Every public school in Louisiana receives an annual school performance score which is reported on a 150 point scale. The school performance score communicates how well a school is preparing students for the nextgrade level using a variety of measures.

  9. Math, Science and Arts Contribution There are 244 students enrolled at the MSAE who contribute to our school’s score / letter grade. These students are a part of our school and their scores are reported with our school’s score / letter grade.

  11. 2017 – 2018 MSAE School Goals • K-2 Reading Goal - Increase from 35% to 58% of students reading on grade-level K-2 Math - 75% of students will meet or exceed the target of one year’s growth on the iReady MathDiagnostic • 3-8 ELA - Increase % Mastery or Above from 66% in 2017 to 75% in 2018 • 3-8 Math - Increase % Mastery or Above from 69% in 2017 to 73%in 2018 • EOC Proficiency - Increase % Good/Basic & Above from 84% in 2017 to 90% in 2018 • ACT - Increase % of Seniors scoring 21 & Above from 42% in 2017 to 63% in 2018

  12. Supporting Student Learning at Home • Ensure daily attendance • Encourage reading 20 minutes nightly • Engage in career-centered conversations beyond the classroom for all students PreK-12th • Emphasize & support extra-curricular activities • Explore STEM opportunities

Next Steps… • Program Implementation: Continue with Tier I Curricula: Zearn, Guidebooks 2.0 /Collections; iRead, iReady, AR, Job-embedded PD • Semester Two: Add Enrichment to RTI that caters to students’ needs, interests, and opportunities. We will hold monthly assemblies to address school needs. • Increase student involvement in campus wide decision making

Recent Successes… • Dylan Spedale was recognized as one of the district’s nominees for National Presidential Scholar Program. • We earned the awards for Middle School Strongest Academic Growth and High School Highest Attendance in our district for the First Nine Weeks. • Lyndell Joseph and Blake Barbay were selected to play in the Redstick Bowl. • Doretha Dixon was named First Team All-District Player in Volleyball. • Our students recently participated in multiple off campus experiences such as Costa Rica, New York City, Coastal Roots, local plays, caroling at a nursing home, District Science Fair, and StarBase. • Several students were recently inducted into the National Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society and National Beta Club.
