Do Now-Monday, April 30th • What grade do you want to receive in Science for 4th quarter? • What grade do you want to earn on your Unit 6 exam? • What specific actions will you need to take to achieve this goal? • How will you feel if you achieve these goals, and how will achieving these goals help you to achieve future goals?

  3. Water Pollution Review • Name and describe 2 different types of pollution? • What is a watershed? • What is an example of nonpoint source pollution? • What is an example of point source pollution? • What is the #1 cause of water pollution in North Carolina?

  5. Unit 6 Review Sheet-Jigsaw • Use notes and returned assignments • You may collaborate with other students • This means you may explain and answer questions; however, you will lose points if you are COPYING! • Unit 6 Assignments passed back.

  7. CHOICE BOARD! You must complete 3 squares by the end of class. Just like tic-tac-tie, create a diagonal, vertical or horizontal line when picking the 3 squares (You must include middle square). Choose two different topics for your choice activities & staple to Review sheet.

  8. BOOM BAG REVIEW • Pull a question from the bag and hand it to your partner, without looking. The Q & A are on the strip of paper. • If you pull a paper with “boom” on it, your partner will yell BOOOOOM and you lose all your questions back to the bag. • You will have 15 minutes to play with your bag (Bag 1 or Bag 2). After 15 minutes you will trade bags with a pair near you.

DO NOW! • Draw & label the steps of the water cycle • Draw & label the 3 layers of the ocean; explain how salinity, temperature, & density vary between these 3 layers • What are the short-term and long-term reasons for shoreline variations? • What are the 3 layers of an aquifer, and which layer is impermeable? • What are the 5 major sources of water pollution?

  11. Jeopardy • Groups of 2-3 • Must have team number on white board at all times • Team members must remain in their seats • Winners: • 1st Place: Candy + 2 Points EC • 2nd Place: Candy

  12. 21st Century Skill: Time Management • Make a to-do list every day • Use spare minutes wisely • Find the time of day when you are most efficient • Review your notes every day • Get a good night’s sleep • Communicate your schedule to others • Don’t waste time worrying or procrastinating • Determine your priorities & goals!

Test Time: • Any last minute questions? • Same rules as quiz apply • NO TALKING (-5 points 1st offense, test taken 2nd offense) • Raise your hand if you have a question • Keep eyes on your own paper! (look up and down, not all around)…suspicion is cause for a zero • When finished, complete textbook activity, test corrections, or missing assignments. I will collect exams. • No writing on the test!
