STRENGTHS AND OPPORTUNITIES The aim of the Project: To create an MBA program in Economics of Agriculture Problem to be resolved: Shortage of qualified professionals in the agricultural knowledge system Strengths: Global goal corresponding with national interests: Increasing the competitiveness of Ukrainian Economy and Agriculture Experienced Ukrainian institutions involved: DUEL and the DSAU (the leaders in the fields of management, marketing and agriculture in the region) Foreign institutions involved: • Strong foreign partners (Universities of Amsterdam and Gettingen) • Financial and organizational support of European Commission Opportunities: Access to the international academic experience and contacts, training teachers abroad, obtaining modern equipment and teaching materials, licensing MBA Program as a new product at the market of educational services at Dnipropetrovsk region, delivering well trained professionals for economy, business and agricultural sector of Dnipropetrovsk region (and Ukraine as a whole)

WAYS OF OVERCOMING Weaknesses • Disparity between teaching staff academic experience and the command of English • Lack of practical and business experience of University teachers (professors) • Limits caused by the Ministry of Education standards and requests (curricula, teaching staff etc.) Threats • Competition between MBA Programs at the regional and national level • Existing Consulting Centers in Agricultural sector (Agrosoyuz) • Low demand at the MBA in Economy of Agriculture education at Dnipropetrovsk region Ways of overcoming • Creation of working teams including experienced professors and young motivated teachers trained abroad • Involving practicing specialists in different fields of Agriculture, Economics, Business • Developing variable part of the curriculum taking into consideration regional needs and MBA Program specific features. To propose to potential clients a few (at least two) packets of elective disciplines • Involving real and potential competitors into delivering the MBA Program • Providing a flexible pricing system, well-grounded promotion of the MBA Program
