  1. Russian Orthodox Christianity Researched by Lynell Ford

  2. Did you know? • Russian orthodox is a body of Christians who constitute an self governing Eastern Orthodox church under the jurisdiction of the Patriarch . The ROC (Russian Orthodox Church) is often said to be the largest of the Eastern Orthodox churches in the world. The architectural structure is very different from a western church one of the first things you notice is the Domes which are topped by a cupola, Western churches on the other hand have pointed steeples.

  3. The ROC also has a rich history of beautiful art work

  4. like these pictures These pictures help tell a story such as the one on the left side shows the welcoming of Jesus into Jerusalem and the children were singing “Hosanna to the son of David, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord”.

  5. How it started! • The leader of Kievan was called the Grand Prince and he became the model for future Russian Kings also the early grand princes made a faithful decision. They became Byzantine Christians. According to legend prince vladimir chose to convert the Rus to Byzantine Christianity in the 11th century.

  6. What they believe!!!!!!!! Orthodox Christianity claims to have fully preserved, without any deviation, the traditions and doctrines of the early Christian church established by the apostles. This is why they believe themselves to be the only true and "right believing" Christian faith.

  7. The books and websites I used to get some of this information are!!! The Meaning of Icons by Leonid Ouspenksky and Vladimir Lossky. About.com And my personal favorite: Crash Course with John Green.
