  2. To meet the National Statistical Commission (NSC) Recommendations and Ministry of HRDrequirements :National Information System on Agricultural Education Network in India(NISAGENET)is approved under AP Cess Fund scheme of ICARThe project is being developed at IASRI, New Delhi

  3. Project Duration Project Period : 3 Years Start Date : 01-01-2005 Completion Date : 31-12-2007

NISAGENET • A unified information base for collection, compilation and analysis of data. • The information on Academic, Infrastructural facilities, Budget provision, Manpower employed, Research and Development activities of all the SAU’s, ICAR Deemed to be Universities, Central Agricultural University Imphal, Allahabad Agricultural Institute and Central Universities engaged in providing Agri. Education will be made available. • End Users • Common man • Planners / Policy makers • Scientists / Technologists/ Academicians • Students pursuing higher education in agriculture

  5. Data Sources • 42 participating organizations • All the colleges/ centers/ sub-centers (Govt., Local Bodies, Pvt. Aided, Pvt. Unaided) affiliated to these 42 participating organizations • Other Private Agricultural Colleges affiliated to other universities

System Architecture • NISAGENET Application Software would be installed at • Local Server of each participating organization • The local users would have access to the info. with respect • to their institute through Intranet. • This application will run through server as local host • with .NET framework. • Users may log on to the system through web browser. • Depending on the access rights, the users may retrieve or write • the information. • IASRI server will be accessed for updating / uploading the • data of the participating organization through Internet browser.

  9. Outcome - Publications • The periodic statistical bulletins / reports would be published after mining the information from the NISAGENET.

Outcome - Utility NISAGENET will act as a decision support system and would be quite useful to academicians, planners, policy makers, scientists and technologists, students pursuing higher education in agriculture, and other interested individuals and institutions in the field of agricultural sciences and technology.
