  3. Masks of the Aztecs, Incas, and Mayans These are Inca, Mayan, and Aztec masks. They were very important to the people of this time.

  4. Precious Metals and Stones The most precious metals and stones were gold, silver, platinum, jade, onyx, and turquoise . These metals were mostly used for rituals, trinkets, and jewelry. Wearing jewelry was a way to show how much power you had. Read this for more info.

  5. Headdresses were often worn by chiefs.The more feathers, the higher the rank. HEADDRESSES This headdress was owned by Montezuma, the last chief of the Aztecs.

  6. Fast Facts • Did you know that the syrinx was the most commonly played instrument? • Like the Egyptians, the Aztecs believed in life after death. • This is how the Aztecs mummified the corpses . They would set them in an upright position when they were buried .

  7. Fast Facts II This 230 foot pole was used to honor the gods. The Aztecs would put on clothes to make them look like birds. Then, they’d jump down . That’s probably where we got the idea of bungee jumping. If you could carry a heavy load for 20 miles a day, you would make a good porter .
