  2. PKS Home Improvement • Recently started home improvement company in 2008 • Main functions of PKS Home Improvement: • Construction • Painting • Roofing • Trimming

  3. Before the Database • Information used to be scattered everywhere. The only system to look up customers was a simple filing cabinet based on a customer’s name. • Now PKS Home Improvement uses a Microsoft Access 2010 Database to organize all its customers and house forms and reports for easy organization for clients and future jobs.

  4. Business Value of Database • PKS Home Improvement compiled a database of all its customers and different functions relating to one another respectively • This database is comprised of 6 reports and 3 forms each attributing its own unique value to the company • End users also have easier access to company information for future business

  5. Backup Plan • If for some reason the database struggles, PKS Home Improvement has an extensive backup plan • Security system with limited access to users • Saved external hard drives • Printed records of data
