  2. Mithi Phase Two needs force & follow up Mumbaikar & Mithi River- ‘River-Mithi-Vardan converted into Shap’. 450 persons died at Mithi on 26 July 2005. Petition to High Court, Press & Public Pressure resulted into Mithi Rejuvenation Project. Phase One 12.96 lac cubic meter silt removed-shifted due to Court intervention. Project of Rs 1349 crores. Rs 65 crore spent in Phase I. Phase II is of Rs 1284 crore. Contribution from Govt of India 35%, Maha Govt 15%,MMRDA 25%,BMC 25% NEERI appraise-recommended project of Rs 706 cr only GOI & State Govt contribution recd. till now NIL
