  4. How Are they Formed?

  5. Nope! -they are categorized based on how the thunderstom that led to the derecho was formed Types: Serial Derecho Progressive Derecho Are all derechos the same?

  6. Late spring and early fall • Multiple bow echos • Very long squall line • Associated with a migratory strong low pressure system Serial Derecho

  7. Summer • Short squall line • Single bow echo • Stationary front Progressive Derecho

  8. Falling trees • Flying debris • Trucks and busses being blown over • Structural damage • Severe Injury • Death • Power outages Potential Damage
