Inverses • y = sin x • y = 0.5 • From memory orusing your calculator,you could findtheprincipal value of arcsin 0.5, i.e., sin-1.5 = /6. • Find the other three values of arcsin 0.5 in the graph shown. • Try to find a concise way to write the general solution for arcsin 0.5. • If we were using cos, we’d write arccos 0.5 = /3 + 2n.

  4. Homework • For tomorrow: • Read Section 4-4. • Review Section 2-5, and write the domain & range of: • sin and sin-1 • cos and cos-1 • tan and tan-1
