  3. Winning Choices Character Education Program • Partners VT Corps of Cadets VT Athletics 4 Montgomery County Rotary Clubs

Winning Choices Character Education Program • 12th Year of Program • Rotarians representing all four Montgomery County Clubs, Student-Athletes, and Corps of Cadets speak to MCPS students about character • Rotary sponsored Essay Contest • Rotarians evaluate the essays and choose winners • School, Level, and Overall winners • Winners receive Savings Bonds from Rotarians at school assemblies

Winning Choices Character Education Program • New this year: “County Character” • Partners with Bonnie Kitts Commitment • Silent and Live Auction – June 19, 2012 • Memorial Golf Event – June 20, 2012 • Proceeds to Winning Choices Essay Contest, MCPS High School Scholarships, and Character Education Programs for all 10,000 MCPS students • Opportunities for Sponsorships and Auction Items • Refer to handouts on tables

Rotary Youth Leadership SeminarAKA - RYLA • December 2-4, 2011 - Inn at Virginia Tech • Junior and Senior High School Youth • Sponsored by Rotary Clubs in District 7570 • RYLA Objectives: • Learn more about leadership traits • Learn leadership skills • Understand how to effectively use these skills in their daily lives.

Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Speech Contest • December 2, 2011 – Inn at Virginia Tech • RYLA Participants and Individual Entries Sponsored by District Rotary Clubs • Judges are Rotarians and Invited Community Members • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners give their speeches at Rotary District 7570 Conference

Youth Leadership Alumni Award of Excellence • In Honor of PDG Henderson Graham • For supporting the first RYLA during his tenure as District Governor – 1981-1980 • Award to honor the following attributes • Leadership Activities • Professional Achievements with Integrity • Service and Humanitarian Efforts: • Community Service, including World Community Service in furtherance of international understanding, good will and peace • Other areas of significant accomplishment, as appropriate, may also be considered.
