  1. Jonathan and Charles Hammerhead Shark and Goldfish

  2. There are five different groups of animals with vertebrates. • Mammals • Reptiles • Fish • Amphibians • Birds

  3. The hammerhead shark and goldfish are both fish.

  4. Most fish have these characteristics. They breathe using gills. Fish hatch from eggs. They are cold blooded. Some fish have fins. Some fish have scales.

  5. Here are how some fish have adapted. • Some fish camouflage themselves in sand, in coral, or in plants. • Some fish hide in caves. • Some are adapted to go away from their predators.

  6. Goldfish Goldfish eats fish food if you have one at your home. In the wild, a goldfish has an average life span of about ten years, Like all carp, goldfish eat tiny plants and animals found rooting in bottom of pond.

  7. Goldfish A goldfish is a freshwater fish native to eastern Asia. A goldfish can see colors and shapes, but not at long distances. He hides from his predators because he can’t see well.

  8. Goldfish A goldfish’s body is covered with scales. The scales protect the fish from injury.

  9. Goldfish • Goldfish have no eyelids or irises (the colored part of the human eye). They have to swim away quickly if there is a bright light.

  10. Hammerhead Shark The hammerhead shark has adapted by learning how to swim forward. His hammer “head” helps him swim and see on both sides of his body.

  11. Hammerhead Shark The great hammerhead migrates. He moves to cooler waters during the summer months.

  12. Hammerhead Shark Hammerhead Sharks have sharp teeth that could rip off a human’s arm in one bite!   The shark is always making new teeth.   It can smell blood over a mile away! [P.S. watch out!]

  13. Hammerhead Shark They live in a sea cave. These sharks hide by laying flat on the floor of the cave. They catch their food by sneaking up to their prey. Their enemies are giant squid and the great white shark.

  14. The Hammerhead Shark and the Goldfish We hope you know a few facts now about sharks and goldfish.
