  2. Part 1

  3. Singing on and finding your Department • Its very simple to sign on to Content M. Your Email address will be your Ysu Banner email and the password will be the first section of your email which of course is your name. • E.G(Jamie Person:Jperson@ysu.edu for logging in and Jperson for the password.

  4. The Difference between Sites and Organizations • There may seem like there really is no difference to Sites and Organizations but there is. • Sites: Sites will give you the option of Viewing Ysu main web, as well as the training tool ‘sandbox’. • Organizations: Organizations is where you will find your college or Department.

  5. Part 2

  6. Sandbox • Using the Create button. • The sandbox is the training tool for everyone, it’s a safe place where you can edit and upload documents, photos, and videos on a basic page without the worry of making these changes viral to Ysu main site. • The sandbox is also the home of basic and panel pages where you can choose the layout you would like to give to your Department’s page for a more uniformed look.

  7. Basic page • A basic page, is exactly as it sounds, it’s a basic page. You can add as much content as you need or do as much editing to an existing basic page as needed. You can put links, photos, and even videos in a basic page.

  8. Panels • Like a basic page, you can enter in as much documentation as you like into your panels. But the key difference is, instead of having just a basic page with one way of viewing or editing your documents, A panel page gives you more options as far as how you layout your documents, how you edit them and how you make them look.

  9. These are the most commonly used panels

  10. Look and feel • For the most part, you wont have to worry about the look and feel of your page, but in some cases if its been years since a department has updated there page or your department is starting a new page its best to know how to give your page a uniformed and signature look.

  11. Part 3

  12. Preview your work • Save and Save some more, you can never click the save button too much.

  13. Publishing • When your happy with all the finishing touches you have made, you will want to publish your new page for all of YSU to see. In order to do this correctly you will have to make the changes live. • By clicking onto the More button you can find several options, one which is to Make changes Live.

  14. Deleting and deactivating • Another options to be familiar with is the Deactivate and Delete button, you will only want to deactivate a page or panel when your department decides to go a different rout for your page. If you deactivate a page or a panel you can take it off your page but it will still be available for you to put back up if you need to. But Deleting a page or panel removes it from Content M So Please Be Careful!!!
