  3. From Blackboard toInteractive Whiteboard Wilhelm Timme, called Timm` Willem, (* 15 November 1871 in Bergen, † 14 July 1946) Night watchman and, after the death of Klingel-Buhr, i.e. from 1927 to 1946, also beadle and town crier. 5. From Blackboard toInteractive Whiteboard Media competence in this context means the selection of a suitable medium for the provision of information.

  6. From Blackboard toInteractive Whiteboard Another aspect of media competence is the selection of a suitable information carrier for fixing the information.

  7. From Blackboard toInteractive Whiteboard Information may either be stored for a limited period of time (UTM, STM, blackboards, scripts, computers) or permanently (LTM, books, videos, DVDs).

  8. From Blackboard toInteractive Whiteboard Knowledge is created by the conversion of time-limited information into permanent information.

  9. From Blackboard toInteractive Whiteboard Knowledge is an important prerequisite for solving problems.

  10. From Blackboard toInteractive Whiteboard The introduction of blackboards for storing information was originally used for the permanent storage (blackboards made of stone, slate etc.) of information.

  11. From Blackboard toInteractive Whiteboard At school, however, blackboards as well as all of its subsequent modifications are rather used as temporary storage media.

  13. From Blackboard toInteractive Whiteboard For several years now, interactive whiteboards have been increasingly used in educational institutions of any kind. These whiteboards have already proven their pedagogical value. By means of a board of the Interwrite School Suite, a PC or notebook and a projector, the classroom is transformed into a dynamic teaching centre. The integrated, interactive whiteboard unites all possibilities of interactivity and conventional blackboards.

  17. From Blackboard to Tablet PC The interactive whiteboard and its modifications in the form of Tablet PCs and PEN Display facilitate storing information as permanent information (provision of knowledge) and open up a wide range of possibilities for the visualisation of information. (Pestalozzi)

  18. From Blackboard to Tablet PC Information about the Comenius regio Project http://www.gyher.de http://www.isatt.eu

  19. From Blackboard to Tablet PC? Questions to be answered by the project • What added value does the use of ICT offer for the students’ acquisition of media competence? • What type of equipment (material and staff) does a school need for this purpose? • What type of teacher training and further teacher training is required for this purpose?

  20. From Blackboard to Tablet PC “The first and last goal of our pedagogy should be to find and explore the teaching method where teachers need to teach less and students nevertheless learn more, where there is less noise in schools, less tedium and unnecessary effort, but instead more freedom, fun and true progress.” J. A. Comenius, excerpt from the preface to his Didactica Magna (The Great Didactic), 1657
