  1. Living Under an Open Heaven Blessings of Tithing and Giving Part II

  2. Living Under an Open Heaven The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi. I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Malachi 1:1,2 Wherein have we despised thy name? Wherein have we polluted thee? And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts. Malachi 1:8

  3. Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the LORD of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the LORD. But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the LORD of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen. Malachi 1:13,14

  4. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return? Malachi 3:7

  5. Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse; for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. Malachi 3:8,9

  6. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts. Malachi 3:10-12

  7. Of What Do We Rob God? • Service of ministry driven to secular security • Children—souls (We render Him sterile.) • Joy of giving to His children

  8. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there be meat in mine house,…. • Bring with us to place of worship— NOT SEND • Tithe doesn’t belong to grandma, Christian school, Tele-evangelist, etc. • God wants to lead us over and above the tithe.

  9. And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s: it is holy unto the Lord. Leviticus 27:30 • Because the tithe is holy, it has the power to sanctify our finances. The tithe is the Lord’s The tithe is holy. For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy:…Romans 11:16

  10. We NEVER Benefit From Use of Withheld Tithe! • …for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and also stolen, and dissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff. Joshua 7:11 • Closes window of Heaven and opens the door to Satan. • We can always afford to tithe because we never have true use of the tithe. “He is no fool who gives away what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.” Jim Elliot

  11. Tithing Rebukes the Devourer. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. Malachi 3:11

  12. Tithing Develops Our Faith, Sharpens the Voice of God. …..prove me • Face to face with test If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? Luke 16:11

  13. Tithing Is not the Weightier Matter. There Is no Substitute for Tithing. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Matthew 23:23

  14. Tithing Brings Honor to God. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts. Malachi 3:12 • Testimony to others of God’s faithfulness.

  15. Tithing/Giving Provides Fruit to Our Account (Souls). Not because I desire a gift; but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:17,19

  16. Tithing helps you live contentlyin a discontented world. • Tithing helps you live simplyin a materialisticworld. • Tithing brings securityin a fearfulworld. • Tithing is holyin a sinfulworld.
