  11. Is Jesus at least as smart as Steve Jobs?

  12. Jesus wassmart “Here is a profoundly significant fact. In our culture, and among Christians as well, Jesus Christ is automatically disassociated from brilliance or intellectual capacity. Not one in a thousand will spontaneously think of him in conjunction with words such as "well-informed," "brilliant," or "smart." Far too often he is regarded as hardly conscious. He is taken as a mere icon, a wraith-like semblance of a man living on the margins of the "real life" where you and I must dwell. He is perhaps fit for the role of sacrificial lamb or alienated social critic, but little more.

  13. Jesus wassmart But can we seriously imagine that Jesus could be Lord if he were not smart? If he were divine, would he be dumb? Or uninformed? Once you stop to think about it, how could he be what Christian's take him to be in other respects and not be the best informed and most intelligent person of all: the smartest person who ever lived, bringing us the best information on the most important subjects. What lies at the heart of the astonishing disregard of Jesus found in the moment-to-moment existence of multitudes of professing Christiansis a simple lack of respect for him. He is not seriously taken to be a person of great ability. But what then can devotion or worship mean, if simple respect is not included in it.Dallas Willard

  14. Jesus wassmartand his ‘gospel’ was…? Mark 1:14-15 14After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. 15"The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!"

  15. Jesus wassmartand his ‘gospel’ was…? Matthew 4:17 17From that time on Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."

  23. The kingdom of God • Not a place - it isthe range of God’s effective will • Not new - butat hand, available, close • Not something we build or extend - but something we enter and receive and it was Jesus’ main thing

  24. Seek first the Kingdom of God and you will always have everything you need Matthew 12:31

  25. Jesus’ main thing Matthew 13:44 "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.

  26. What are you seeking?

  27. What is your main thing?

  28. The main thing is to make the main thing the main thing

  29. It is impossible for us to maintain our schedule if we are always having to stop and pick up passengers

  30. What is your treasure?

  31. The most important question in your life is not what job should I do, or what partner should I have, or where should I live, or how much should I earn, or where should my kids go to school, or what kind of pension should I provide for my family. The most important question in your life is this: ‘What is God doing in this world and how can I get involved?’ Tom Sine

  32. Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.  Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.  But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.Jesus

  33. What is sand?
