    1. 12th ANNUAL ECOWAS NUTRITION FORUM SIERRA LEONE PRESENTATION

    2. REC 1 : To create awareness and strengthen an intersectoral collaboration and leadership at national and community levels for accelerating action to address the double burden of malnutrition

    3. To include data on obesity diabetes and other diet related non communicable diseases in demographic and health survey

    4. TO GIVE PRIORITY TO INTERVENTION WHICH TARGET THE WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY FROM PRECONCEPTION TO AROUND 24 MONTHS OF AGE

    5. TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT INSTUTIONAL CROSS CUTTING POLICIES AND ACTIONS WHICH ADDRESS THE DOUBLE BURDEN OF MALNUTRITION

    6. TO URGE COMMUNITIES AND SCHOOLS INCLUDING PRESCHOOLS TO BE NUTRITION AND PHYSICAL –ACTIVITY-FRIENDLY INORDER TO PROMOTE HEALTH AND WELLBEING THROUGHOUT LIFE

    7. To promote the production, processing, preservation and consumption of local foods for safe and balance diets at all seasons and promote food fortification and micronutrient supplementation when and where needed

    9. TO ADAPT AND INTEGRATE INTO MCH SERVICES THE NEW WHO CHILD GROWTH CHART

    10. REC 1-Re-affirm political will and mobilize resources from national and international institutions in order to accelerate the fight for the food security and the control of malnutrition

Rec-2-Setting up/strengthening a national coordination framework with the necessary resources-human, financial ,material-in order to ensure intersectoral collaboration and communication among different actors at all levels Currently Nutrition coordination MEETINGS –HEALTH MOHS at National and soon District level EARLY WARNING MEETINGS –AGRICULTURE CONSTRAINTS-THESE MEETINGS ARE NOT ALL INCLUSIVE OF ALL NUTRITION SECTORS REACH INITATIVE YET TO BE ANCHORED IN HIGH PROFILE PLACE

    13. INVOLVEMENT OF THE AGRIC SECTOR EXISTENCE OF NUTRITION AND FOOD SECURITY COLLABORATIVE FRAMEWORK- REACH INITIATIVE JOINT ACTIVITIES- SURVEYS, TRAINING WORKSHOPs DEVELOPMENT OF NATIONAL FOOD AND NUTRITION POLICY NUT COORDINATION FOOD FORTIFICATION MEETING
