Key Message • Arthur is moving further out to sea. • Nearly 4” of rain has fallen in southeastern NY and NJ since Thursday morning. • The Saddle River at Lodi, NJ crested last night just shy of flooding. • No flooding is forecast at any of the larger inland rivers, however flash flooding is possible for a few hours more in Delaware, Northeast Maryland, New Jersey and Southeast New York. • MARFC will end our 24 hr operations tonight at midnight.

  3. Current Conditions • There are two areas of rain occurring now (11am Friday July 4th) in the Mid-Atlantic region. One is rain from cold front. The other is rain from Hurricane Arthur. NWS Radar xxxxx

  4. Rainfall since yesterday morning The purples and reds shown on this map are where the heaviest rains have occurred over the past 24 hours. The amounts ranged from 1.5” to almost 4”. Here are some of the highest reports we’ve received so far: • 3.98” Sullivan County, NY • 3.96” Passaic County, NJ • 3.69” Sussex County, NJ • 3.00” Essex County, NJ • 2.84” Pike County, PA • 2.76” Bergen County, NJ • 2.67” Rockbridge County, VA • 2.42” Schuylkill County, PA

  5. Inland Rivers • The Saddle River at Lodi, NJ crest just below flood stage last night. This was our closest call to flooding on the larger inland rivers of the Mid-Atlantic Region. • No flooding is forecast through the weekend. Graphs of river levels and forecasts are posted at water.weather.gov

  6. MARFC Status • MARFC will end 24 hour operations at midnight tonight. • This is our final MARFC briefing for Arthur.
