  3. Taking Responsibility T • Child-friendly terms allow students to take responsibility for their learning.

  4. Action Verbs A • Bloom’s verbs promote higher levels of thinking and achievement.

  5. Rigorous R • Rigorous instruction requires students to gain a more in-depth understanding of standards.

  6. Goals that are Measurable G • Measurable objectives allow teachers to collect data that can be analyzed to monitor mastery of standards.

  7. Exceeding Expectations E • A more in-depth understanding of the standards allows students to reach higher levels of critical thinking.

  8. Teamwork T • A collaborative effort within the second grade team creates unity within our instruction.

  9. Student Achievement S • Student achievement is the result of implementing all of these aspects into our Daily Learning Targets.
