A layman’s view of fundamentals of distributed computing. Examples presented are based on utilizing a set of classroom computers as a cluster, or cluster of workstations (COW). Programming and distribution of code are based on components of the SAS System. In this presentation, efforts will be made so that concepts will be emphasized and specific syntax will be minimized.
