  3. Goal • To establish a university-wide research initiative for ubiquitous computing, Case Ubiquitous Research Initiative (CURI). • To establish CWRU and Cleveland as national and international center of excellence

  4. Proposed Activities • Development of External Relationship • Advisory board from private and public organizations • Funded and sponsored research projects • Provide access to leading researchers to regional companies • Pursue interesting, relevant, large-scale projects • Interdisciplinary research • Fundamental to applied research • Developmental to organizational/behavioral research

  5. Potential Examples • Wireless Jacobs Field • Interdisciplinary funded project • Involves prototype developments and applied social psychological research • Potential huge visibility • Creation of large ubiquitous computing environments with sensors • Collaborative action learning projects in medical application of ubiquitous computing
