  3. CLASS 5 : OXIDIZERS & ORGANIC PEROXIDES 5.1 Oxidizers 5.2 Organic Peroxides Oxidizing Agent

  4. OXIDIZING AGENT Chemical Compound that readily transfer oxygen atoms Not necessarily Combustible Produce oxygen on its own upon temperature rise and heat when in contact with organic compound.

  5. 5.1 OXIDIZERS • Also known as: • Oxidant • Oxidizing Agent All oxidizing agent other than organic peroxides. It can be divided into 4 categories Class 1 Class 2 • Examples: • Calcium Hypochloride • Ammonium Nitrate • Potassium Permanganate Class 3 Class 4

  6. 5.1 ORGANIC COMPOUND Oxidizing agent either in liquid / solid form Example Intentionally or unintentionally initiate explosive • Benzoyl Peroxides • CumeneHydroperoxide • Hydrogen Peroxide Have different chemical structure

  7. Potential Risks . . . • Oxygen is needed in combustion. • As the chemical capable to produce its • own oxygen, it has tendency to • promote fire with help of ignition • source. Promote Fire Sensitive to heat & friction • Temperature influence chemical • compound to produce oxygen. • Friction cause temperature rise Burn Rapidly • As chemical burn, temperature rise • More oxygen produce • Fire burns rapidly.

  10. CLASS 6 : TOXIC & INFECTIOUS SUBSTANCE 6.1 Toxic Substance (Poison) 6.2 Infectious Substance (Biohazard) Substance that liable to cause death/serious injury to human health if inhaled/ swallow or by skip absorption. Substance contain virus culture, PATHOGEN, used intravenous needles.
