  1. Salvation of the Whole Person 1. Some teach redemption comes before the entire heart is purified. God’s plan is designed to purify the entire heart. Having only one section purified does not constitute redemption. 2. When the Biblical message is shared, it must contain the essential elements that relate to each section of the heart so people can see the need to be obedient to the whole message of salvation so the entire heart can be purified.

  2. The Gospel Presentation • Acts 15:9 …He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.

  3. The Biblical Heart • Matt 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

  7. THE INTELLECT THINKS • It is acted on by the PERSON OF CHRIST Acts 10:34-43 • Hearing the gospel produces FAITH Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; (10) for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. • Faith affects the INTELLECT Acts 8:37 [And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."]

  8. THE WILL ACTS • It is acted on by the LORDSHIP OF CHRIST Acts 2:22-36 • Accepting Lordship produces REPENTANCE Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. • Repentance affects the WILL Romans 6:17 But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed,

  9. THE CONSCIENCE CONVICTS • FIRST, REMEMBER, THE CONSCIENCECANNOT BE COMPLETELY TRUSTED: • Weak - 1Corinthians 8:7 …their conscience being weak is defiled. • Defiled - Titus 1:15 … but both their mind and their conscience are defiled. • Seared - 1Timothy 4:2 by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron, • Evil - Hebrews 10:22 let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

  10. THE CONSCIENCE CONVICTS • It is acted on by the ATONEMENT OF CHRIST Hebrews 9:11-12 But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; (12) and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. • The atonement is applied in BAPTISM Acts 2:38; Heb. 10:22 • Baptism affects the CONSCIENCE 1 Peter 3:21 Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you--not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience--through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

  11. THE EMOTIONS FEEL • They are acted on by the PRESENCE OF CHRIST Matthew 28:20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." • Christ’s presence produces the HOLY SPIRIT in us Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. • The Holy Spirit affects our EMOTIONS Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, (23) gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
