Background • Habitat experience with housing PLWHA • Through partnership with local NGOs, provide PLWHA 45 with housing solutions • Habitat Asia Pacific is a member of the Asia Regional Inter-Agency Support Coordination Office and the UN Health Information net work. • Many Habitat Programmes are delivered through complex partnerships- experience that is central to best practice HIV/AIDS programming. • Habitat has worldwide experience in providing shelter to PLWHA.

  4. II. Implementing Partners 1- KHEMARA: A Cambodian NGO for advancement of Women and children Location is in Russey Keo district, Phnom Penh.

  5. II. Implementing Partners 2- Sharing Experience for Adapted Development: A Cambodian NGO specializing in health and development to improve quality of lives of disadvantage and HIV/AIDS people in Cambodia. Location is in Steung Meancheyurban and peri-urban.

  6. II. Implementing Partners Cont 3- Save The Children Australia: An international NGO which aim to help every child has a health and safe childhood, the opportunity to learn, and a voice to speak by themselves. Geographical location is in Prey Veng rural area.

Implementing Partners Cont 4- Sihanouk Hospital Center of Hope: Hospital that provide a center for further education and clinical training of medical professional while delivering high quality, free medical care for the poor and disadvantaged in Cambodia. Geographical location is urban area.

  8. III. Target Group • Serve 320 PLWHA/OVC and families

  9. IV. Program Goal • To enable infected and affected by HIV/AIDS and OVC to be fully integrated into the community and live stable and healthy lives.

  10. V. Objectives 1- To provide safe and decent shelter for people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS and OVC within their urban, peri-urban and rural communities. 2- To provide continued medical and social support to people benefiting form housing solutions. 3- To provide certified training for the beneficiary group. 4- To assess the impact of improve shelter and assist with replication of the project on the beneficiaries, especially in the relationship to objective 2.

Key Activities 1- Set up or strengthen committee for beneficiary selection and provide training in case assessments for selection. 2- Committee/association (shelf help group, pagoda based organization, home based care, a and other faith based entities) provide managerial coordination and decision making to select and support 320 PLWHA/OVC families. 3- Construction of 120 houses for eligible PLHWHA/OVC

Key Activities Cont 4- Repair of 200 homes for eligible PLHWHA/OVC and water sanitation facilities. 5- Monitoring beneficiaries through home visit to ensure that their physical and mental status, counseling, adherence level, shelf help care, positive prevention, stigma discrimination, secure land, succession planning for house renovation and building, loan, capital, on going income generation activity/business, loan payment and benefits, OVC access to school and other vocational training center.

Key Activities Cont 6- Maintain detailed history of individual medical and social support and IGA business. 7- Provide a two day training to 120 people on construction skills 8- Organize a two day training to 320 people on: 1. Family Financial management 2. Livelihood plus business loan 3 Micro finance enterprise. 9- Provide one day training to 30 staff on HIV/AIDS
