  3. Ex 1: Perform the indicated operation Note: In order to add or subtract 2 fractions, we must have the SAME DENOMINATOR. a. b.

  4. Ex 2: Find the LCD Ask yourself: Do the denominators have any factors in common? a. (You can leave it “unsimplified.”) In this example, there are no common factors. b. Note: Use ALL of the factors! Factor!

  5. Ex 3: Perform the indicated operation, then simplify Frist: Find the LCD Multiply each fraction by the factors it doesn’t already have.

  6. Ex 4: Perform the indicated operation and simplify.

  7. Exit Slip: Perform the indicated operation and simplify.
