  4. Mission Statement • STMA Youth Development program (YDT) is committed to the development and promotion of girl’s volleyball within the St. Michael-Albertville area. The program provides an opportunity for girls ages 6 through 12 to play volleyball year round, thus allowing them to learn new skills and develop skills already acquired. The goals of YDT coaches goes further than just teaching volleyball skills, but includes teaching important life skills such as responsibility and teamwork. The program also emphasizes the importance of good sportsmanship, teamwork, and individual achievements within a fun, competitive, and safe environment.

  5. Goals • Our goals as Youth Development Program is to provide the opportunity for girls to experience the sport of volleyball at a beginning level. They will be provided with the skills, knowledge, and understanding of the game to the best of their ability. Teamwork and other life skills will also be taught. They will be challenged to improve their skill level and to try new techniques that will enable them to perform to the best of their ability.

Practices and Tournaments • Regular Season Starts Nov 9th and ends March 8th • Practice will be Sundays: 2 time slots: 3:00 5:00 or 5:15 – 7:15 • MSE or MSW (locations still being determined • Participate in 3 Playdate in St. Michael • 1st & 2nd Grade Starts Nov 16th ends March 1st • Practices will be on Sundays: • Time: still being worked out • MSE OR MSW • Extended Season: Starts Nov 9th ends April 12th ??h??? • Practices at MSW – Sundays 5:15 -7:15 and every other Friday 6:00- 7:30 • MSW • Participate in 3 Playdates in St. Michael and 2 Outside Tourneys

  7. Players need to be properly equipped. (Shoes, socks, shorts, (do not need to be spandex) shirts, NO Jewelry, knee pads(preferred). • We NEED parent volunteers to help!!!!!!!!! • All playdates at STMA – MSW & MSE • $50.00 Volunteer Check – due with the 1st payment • Will be shredded or returned after 2-4 hours of volunteering at the concession stand or admissions table.

  8. Uniforms • Each team will have a different colored Jersey. • Colors will be distributed once teams have been decided.

  9. YDT Code of Conduct For the 2014 – 2015 season (November 2014– June 2015) agreement and adherence to the following is required of all players selected to a STMA YDT Volleyball Team, and parents where applicable: 1. I will treat all STMA teammates, coaches, and STMA parents with respect. 2. I will show fairness and respect towards all opponents (players and coaches), spectators, officials, and facility staff. 3. I agree to respect the property of others (teammates, hotels, gyms, locker rooms, vans and cars, restaurants…) and to pay for all damages for which I am responsible. Initial- _________

  10. Code of Conduct Continued I agree to meet my financial requirement IN FULL. Payments are due by the schedule of payments set by STMA YDT, unless the director or treasurer has approved an alternative payment plan. Failure to abide by the terms of the payment plan will result in termination. This includes the $50 volunteer check. Initial- _________ I agree to the STMA Juniors Refund Policy. Refund Policy- STMA YDT. WILL NOT offer any refunds for club volleyball athletes once the season has started since the loss of an athlete cannot be easily replaced once all club athletes have committed to their teams. Therefore, STMA YDT defines the start of the season as the December 7th,and not the team’s first tournament. Legal action may occur if payment policies are not followed as stated. Initial-_________

  14. Fundraising Opportunities • Tournaments • We host 3 tournaments and need parents to help out with concessions and admissions. An additional $50 will be charged to all which is refundable after fulfillment of tournament help. • You will be volunteering at a tournament in which your daughter is not playing

  15. Fund Raising Continued • Cookie Sales: We are asking each player to sell boxes of cookies. The profit will go for new equipment. • Kick off is Sunday November 23rd • Wrap up is Sunday December 7th • Goal for each player is 11 boxes. • Prizes: For every 15 boxes sold you can draw from on money bag. • Top seller will receive $1.00 per box sold • Parent Sweat Shirt at 25 Boxes sold • 2nd Parent Sweat Shirt at 35 boxes sols • Sell 50 Boxes and get $50.00

  16. Coaches • Coaches will be coming from the High School program. Please let us know if you would be willing to help out.
