Key Issues • Multi- agency data required • Data required from a range of organisations • Increased co-ordination role for Statistics New Zealand • More analysis required • Datasets not used to fullest potential • Data analysis not a part of tertiary curriculum • Requirent for analysis to be incorporated into funding?

Key Issues • Better use to be made of existing data • Problems with access • Problems with definitions – eg ethnicity • Statistics New Zealand increasing co-ordination role • Increased Training • Particularly important for community groups • Statistics New Zealand to build upon current training & offer basic courses for community groups
