Good quality: nice to have or critical? • Terminology good-quality and controlled terminology: • Very important for human translation • Critical for rule-based Machine Translation (MT) • Achieved through different tasks: Metrics reports Harvesting / Leveraging Consolidation (duplicates, deprecated terms) Validation Synchronisation (between 2 dictionaries) Customisation

Problems • Tools tend to focus on “just” some tasks • Limited flexibility for customisation to different needs • No appropriate comparison criteria, no good quality: • Manual tasks: time-consuming and prone to errors POS values (noun, verb, adverb, adjective...) “Noises” (linguistic clues, trade marks and punctuation signs, hotkeys) Leading/Trailing spaces Case (sensitive or insensitive)
